Our client, a growing fortune 500 company in Miami, is looking for a Senior, UNIX Solaris Admin. This is a great opportunity for a senior candidate to grow their knowledge base & support a growing organization. This is a dynamic environment with a great company.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidate will work under the general supervision of the Enterprise Systems / Storage Manager, Manages the administration of the SUN Solaris UNIX servers in the development, production, and DR environments.

Configure and build new UNIX servers for Production, Development or Disaster Recovery Environments

Manage the patching of UNIX systems. Identify which servers need to be patched on a monthly basis

Review UNIX system / Backup / Storage logs for issues

Maintain and update UNIX system documentation on an ongoing basis to ensure that equipment is documented

REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree, Bachelors preferred

5 years of system administration experience

Must possess knowledge of both Solaris and Red Hat Operating systems including the following:

Solaris (8,9,10), Redhat ES / AS (3.x, 4.X), Solstice DiskSuite / Volume Manager, Symantec (Veritas) Volume Manager 3.x – 4.x, Symantec (Veritas) NetBackup 5.X / 6.X, Legato 7.1, DNS, and Sendmail, SNMP, Perl, Bourne Shell, Korn Shell, Visio, Word, Excel

Familiarity with the following software:

SUN Cluster 3.1, Veritas Cluster 3.x – 4.x, NetApp Data OnTap 7.X, Nagios, MRTG, NMIS, Apache Webserver, SNMP, HP Compaq Insight Manager, Backup Exec, Oracle, Oracle application server, Postgresql, LDAP
